Frequently Asked Questions
Where and when is Cupid's Undie Run?
Saturday, February 11th 2012. For the first time ever, Cupid's Undie Run will occur in six different cities nationwide:
DC - Pour House and (NEW for 2012) the neighboring Capitol Lounge
Denver - Stoney's Bar & Grill
Cincinnati - Longworths
Atlanta - Hand in Hand and Neighbors Pub
Seattle - Ballroom
NYC - TBA
What is the charity?
All funds raised go to The Children's Tumor Foundation (CTF), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. CTF is the world's largest non-government organization dedicated to ending Neurofibromatosis (NF) through research. NF is a genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body, causing blindness, deafness, learning disabilities and severe chronic pain.
How much money goes to the charity?
100% of fundraising dollars go straight to CTF and are tax-deductible. A portion of registration fees are used for race logistics and are not tax-deductible.
Is there an age limit?
All participants in Cupid's Undie Run must be 21+. You must bring ID. No ID, no entry, no exceptions.
What should I bring on race day?
ID and undies. The rest is optional.
Is Cupid's Undie Run a race?
The Cupid’s Undie Run is a fun run, not a race. We encourage everyone to run together as a big group (umm, body warmth, duh). If you are competitive at heart, we suggest you put some of that competitiveness to see if you have what it takes to become a top fundraiser!
You really want me to dress up in my undies?
You know it! We're baring it all to raise awareness for a good cause. We're being brave and facing adversity, just like the children who suffer daily from neurofibromatosis. If you don't want to show too much skin, you are welcome to wear your undies over top of tights and we encourage creativity!
Is there a restriction on what I can wear?
Remember, this is a charity event for the kids so no nudity, no thongs and no pasties, please.
What do I do with my extra clothes and personal belongings during the run?
We have a free bag-check service set up that is attended by security the entire time of the event.
Are spectators allowed in the venue?
No, only registered participants will be allowed in the venue. We will be pushing capacity, so no exceptions. Spectators are encouraged to line the race course and cheer on all their friends, family and strangers. Someone's gotta take the pictures, after all! Spectators are encouraged to donate to the cause here.
Will it be cold?
It's February. Take a guess. We had 4 feet of snow in 2010. It was a balmy 45F in 2011. Depending on the city, our best guess is that temperatures will range from cold to holy-crap-I-can't-feel-my-
What if it rains or snows?
Cupid's Undie Run will happen rain or shine. It's only a mile or so. You can do it!
I earned VIP Open-Bar status. What does that "Open-Bar" entail?
Open-Bar gets you free drinks from noon - 4pm (approximately). Open-Bar will be limited to a select number of beers (TBD) and rail drinks.
If I drop out, can I transfer my slot? Do I get a refund?
If you need to drop, please email info@cupidsundierun.com and include the name you registered with. Unfortunately, we are unable to transfer entry slots and we cannot offer refunds at this time.
I registered as an individual but meant to join a team. How do I join up with my team?
Login to your fundraising page and on the left side choose "Edit your info". There will be options for changing team/individual status.
For the fundraising prizes, what is the difference between dollars raised and points?
There are two different systems for receiving two different sets of prizes. One is based purely off of how many dollars you have raised. The points system, on the other hand, awards points based on how often you login to your fundraising page, how often you share it with friends, etc. A full explanation of the point system can be found on your account login page. Points will NOT count towards the 'dollars raised' system.
I am not sure if my registration went through. What can I do?
You should receive a confirmation email upon successful registration. Check your Spam folder if you did not get one. If you still can't find it, email info@cupidsundierun.com and we will double-check.
I forgot to register in time and it SOLD OUT. Can you let me in? Pretty please with a cherry on top? I'll do anything!
No. We have a fire marshal capacity at each venue and we cannot go over. We do, however, reserve a small number of "Big Heart" charity slots to latecomers who are willing to fundraise at least $500. Once the event sells out, these slots will be advertised. Runners who gain entry via this route MUST fundraise at least $500.
I am from the media. How do I get a press pass?
Please email info@cupidsundierun.com with your credentials and include PRESS PASS in the subject line.
I have a question you didn't address. What is the answer?
42.
If that answer isn't good enough, email info@cupidsundierun.com and we'll do our best.
